day of remembrance

As a grant recipient of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Creative Engagement Award, I co-curated a series of performances, talks, and exhibits at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club for the New York Day of Remembrance Committee (NYDOR). The NYDOR is a group of Japanese American New Yorkers and allies dedicated to healing intergenerational trauma caused by the WWII incarceration of people of Japanese ancestry through community programming and partnerships and by demanding justice for oppressed people facing racialized state violence and discrimination. Our work includes the New York Regional Chapter of Tsuru for Solidarity and the Annual Day of Remembrance Program. Find out more about the organization here.
